Celebrating the life of Donald Jeffrey Burgess
Thank you for signing Donald Jeffrey Burgess's Guestbook
I would like to express my condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection according to scriptures such as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in [Isaiah 25:8] which says that Jehovah God will swallow up death forever. Also [Revelations 21:3-5] says that God wiall wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort.
With Deep Sympathy.

To say that Donald was a life long friend, really doesn't reach the heights of all we shared in life. Going all through school together was just a tiny portion. We worked together in our teens pruning and hoeing blueberries, hanging tobacco, and the countless nights working on old cars that no one but broke teenagers would ever own. Our lives were filled with REAL camping trips which consisted of usually four of the bullpens alumni. Always sleeping on the ground on the banks of the north east Cape fear, or Shelter Creek. Eating fish we had caught for dinner, and again for breakfast. The night time fourteen mile walk from my house down 53 and all the way through crooms bridge to Murray Town rd and back. For no other reason than to say we did it. Who knows how many races in Leland we attended, and the hamburgers we consumed afterwards at Hardee's on Carolina beach rd. These are just a sampling of the life and times I was so fortunate to have shared with my friend. Donald or Donnie to most, had such a kind and big heart, I can say without any reservations, when true friends can be counted on one hand, now a finger is missing. Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again.
