Eloise Moore Petteway



Eloise Moore Petteway, age 87, left this earthly life for her eternal rest. She was a residence of Premier Nursing Home in Jacksonville, NC.

She was born April 5, 1931 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Moody Graham Moore and Annie Moore. She was also predeceased by her son, Dennis Dixon; her daughter, Sharon Dixon; grandson, David Dixon; brothers, Hardin Moore, Calvin Moore and Randolph Moore; sisters, Annie Graham Fawe, Christine Williams and Tiny Meares.

Surviving is her children, Jethro Dixon and wife, Shelby of Maple Hill, Rebecca Gray of Richlands and Angela P. Wilder of Georgia; grandchildren, Paula Bass and husband, Mark, Darrell Critzer and wife, Jackie, A.C. Critzer and wife, Amy, Melanie Gray, Sarah Hussein, and Hannah Wilder; great grandchildren, Heather Bass, Joshua Bass, Coral Critzer, Ivey Critzer, Alana Gray, Alexandria Hall, Aaron Critzer, Sydney Critzer, Coty Sharman, Kayla Sharman, Jonathan Mills, Francisco Gray, and Isabelle Gray; great great grandchildren, Brenden Dixon, Kaydence Dixon, Jaxsten Rhodes, Spencer Rhodes, Michael Hall and Luka Dean; sister, Mary Ellen Futrell of Richlands and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that loved Eloise dearly.

Eloise found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved each one of them very much. Being born into a family of farmers, Eloise enjoyed being outside and working in the vegetable and flower gardens. She loved children, especially little babies. Her face would always light up with a beautiful smile when she was around them. During her life, Eloise traveled to numerous places. She will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved Eloise.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum in Watha, NC.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018
at the funeral home.
