Esther Anderson Padgett Webb



A kind and gentle soul, a gracious and loving lady, Esther Anderson Padgett Webb entered eternal rest on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the age of 100. She was born November 13, 1917 to Arthur and Mable Rivenbark Anderson, living all of her wonderful life in the small community of Watha.

In addition to her parents Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Webb; sisters, Dorothy Roberts and Mary Smith; brother, Buren Anderson; niece, Annetta Koscher and nephew, Nelson Smith.

Esther is survived by her son, David Padgett; grandchildren, Vann Padgett and wife, Sandra and Bergen Padgett Haworth and husband, Albert; great granddaughter, Ava Haworth; niece, Janet Wester; nephews, Wright Anderson and Tom Anderson and wife, Ann; and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was a life long dedicated member of Watha United Methodist Church. After 35 years, Esther retired from Pender County Finance Office.

Filled with kindness, compassion and a Christian spirit, Esther welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of family and friends. She was a good listener, never offering advice unless asked. Even in her later years Esther remained intellectually and physically active, still driving and living in her own home until just recently. Her radiant smile and joy in life will be remembered.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Watha United Methodist Church with Rev. John Fedoronko conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
