Jean M. Curtis



Jean M. Curtis, 81, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life Friday, August 3, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 3, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Frank Henry Sandhom and Ruth Helen Therese Aberg Sandholm. Also remembered is her husband of 35 years, Francis “Frank” Curtis; son, David W. Christiansen; and sister, Janet M. Dieckmann.

Jean is survived by her son, Donald R. Christiansen and his wife, Lynne; grandchildren, Jacob Christiansen and Mary Kate Christiansen; several nieces; special friends, Sallie Blake, Mary Beth Bowden, Kylie Watson and Annie Barnhill; and her beloved church family.

Jean was a faithful and active member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church.

Jean Curtis was a generous and fun-loving woman cared for by many. She was passionate about her Catholic faith and greatly enjoyed the fellowship with members of her local church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as reading, card games, and caring for her two dogs, Nelson and Ben.

The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Father Roger Malonda will be the officiant.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church Outreach Ministry, 1303 US Hwy 117 S, Burgaw, NC 28425.
