Randle Glenn Pierce, 74, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 21, 1944 in Pender County; the son of the late Ross and Vada Batchelor Pierce. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Jenny Mitchell; his brother, Alvin Pierce; and sisters, Stella Evans, Shelby Sholar and Helen Sloan.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Surviving is his best friend and wife of 57 years, Nancy Sholar Pierce of the home; three daughters, Sharon Mitchell and husband, David, Sherry Henderson and husband, Danny and Pamela Cavenaugh and Jerry Padgett; grandchildren, Audrey Barnhill and husband, Jake, Jessie Lee and Baillie Henderson Buckley and husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Kinley Barnhill and Kolton Barnhill; brother, Jolly Pierce and wife, Amy; sister, Kathleen Hanchey and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Randle was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and brother. He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was family. Being a good Daddy and great provider, Randle was loved and adored by his wife, his girls and grandchildren. He was a very hard worker who would work from sun up to sun down. Randle began his working ethics in the log woods as a 14-year-old teenager. His hard work lead him to a career at Fluor Daniels where he worked for 23 years as one of the best crane operators around. During this career, Randle and Nancy spent 4 years in Venezuela, South America as he worked as a crane inspector. After retiring from Fluor Daniels and because of his love for hard work, Randle opened his own septic tank business and worked as long as his health permitted. Randle’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family and gardening. He always had a big garden with rows that were longer than most peoples. With a great personality and sense of humor, Randle was loved and respected by many. He will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew Randle Pierce.
