Tristan Michael Meister, 21, of Rocky Point, beloved son, brother, grandson and loyal friend left this earth May 30, 2018 way too soon, leaving a big hole in our hearts.
He was born October 6, 1996 in Wilmington, the son of Emily Meister and the late James “Jay” H. Meister III.
In addition to his mother, Tristan is survived by his sister, Jordan Meister; grandmothers, Judy Groet and Shirley Burke; and many extended family and friends.
Tristan was employed with Neuwirth Motors, Inc. in Wilmington. He was committed to educating school children and the general public about the history of Moores Creek National Battlefield as was evidenced by his over 1000 hours of volunteer service. He frequently was involved in the Revolutionary War reenactments at the Battle Ground.
Tristan was a devoted son, brother, and grandson who loved his family. With a radiant smile, contagious laugh, and charismatic personality, Tristan brought lots of sunshine into the lives of all he knew. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
There will be a gathering of family and friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.
Instead of sending flowers, the family suggests that you consider a memorial gift to Living History Programs at Moores Creek National Battlefield, 40 Patroits Hall Drive, Currie, NC 28435.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family at www.quinnmcgowen.com

Celebrating the life of Tristan Michael Meister
Thank you for signing Tristan Michael Meister's Guestbook
To the family and friends of Mr. Meister always cherish the fond memories of time spent together and although you may grieve the Bible can be a source of comfort. At (Revelation 21:3,4) it speaks of a time when there will be no more sickness or death, also at (Acts 24:15) it speaks of a resurrection that we all can look forward to. May the peace and love of the God of the Bible be with you all.

I knew Tristan from working with him at Subway. He always had a way of making me laugh even when I was having the worst day. He was always friendly with the people he was helping and never seemed to let anything get to him too much. I remember when he said that he was leaving Subway to work for a company in Wilmington. I told him that I hope he will come by to say "hi" and he said he would when he had a chance. He will be missed and was a good friend.

As Tristan’s former principal at BES, I remember Tristan as having a smile that would light up a room, a heart as big as the moon and a personality that invited others to be around him. My heart aches for all of you. I have had many former teachers of Tristan who have contacted me and are as heartbroken as me. Please know that you are in our hearts and prayers.
