Obituary

James "Jimmy" Lynn Lasseter, age 81, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

He was born on February 17, 1936 in Chipley, Florida and was the son of the late D.C. Lasseter and Elois Shipes Lasseter Ticka. He was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine L. Sentell.

Jimmy proudly served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps.

Surviving is his devoted wife of 60 years, Joanne Sanderson Lasseter of the home; his daughters, Lynn Lasseter of Clinton, Pamela Jo Lasseter of Wallace, Teresa L. Boone of Clinton and Bobbie L. Sang and husband, Bob of Greenville; grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Ferguson, Wendy G. Hardison and husband, Timmie, Johnna L. Tew and husband, Brandon (Aiden), Heather F. Teague and husband, Bradley and Tayloe Perkins; great grandchildren, Benjamin L. Morgan, Trevor Hardison, Bailey Jo Teague and Annabelle Teague; special friends, J.L. Giddeons, Tom Herren, Gladys Sikes, Gwen Austin and Dr. Timothy Smith; extended family and numerous friends that loved Jimmy dearly.

"Jimmy" or "Cowboy" as he was affectionately called, was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather and friend. He was a simple man who loved his family dearly. Jimmy enjoyed people and never met a stranger. With a witty personality, he had a nick-name for everybody he knew. Jimmy and Joanne were owners and operators of Wallace Starter and Generator. During this time, Jimmy worked hard and developed numerous friendships that lasted throughout his life. He also made sure he instilled his good work ethics in his girls. His passion was being outside and riding horses. Jimmy had a big heart and loving spirit about him that made it a pleasure to be around him. He will surely be missed and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Leo Bracken officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 4:00pm at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
