Julian Glenn Tucker, 88, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from Pender Memorial Hospital.
He was born on February 22, 1929 in Duplin County and was the youngest of 5 children born to the late Lonnie and Sudie English Tucker. Julian was also predeceased by his best friend and wife of 59 years, Marcie Grey Tucker and siblings, Adell Wood, Linwood Tucker, Lathan English and James Tucker.
Julian enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for over 23 years. Following his military retirement, Julian was co-founder and President of Excel Technical Services. He was Chairman of the Board of Piedmont Federal Credit Union and Freemason and Master Mason. Julian was an active member of the American Legion and Woodman of the World. He faithfully attended Poston Baptist Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Glenn Tucker and wife, Cynthia of Spotsylvania, VA, Ronnie Tucker and fiancée, Britt Jackman of McLean, VA, and Debra Phillips and husband, Gary of Mercer. PA; grandchildren, Julian C. Tucker and mother, Kelly Tucker; Eric Jackman and far too many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to name that loved and respected Julian.
Julian was a loving father and caring grandfather and friend. He was truly a people's person and enjoyed spending time talking and reminiscing about 'yester-years'. With his military career and undying love for his country, Julian was a true American. He believed and experienced that freedom came with a price. He was proud of his upbringing and his family, especially his children. He always had a smile on his face when he spoke of each of them. With a gentle spirit and a genuine concern for others, Julian was loved by all who knew him. He will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Julian.

Catherine and I are so sorry to know of you father’s passing. Please express our condolences to your family. He was a kind and gentle man yet a stout defender of his beliefs. Had I known of the many stripes on his arm I would have been fearful. He was so proud of you and loved you and you were so caring to him. He loved his church and I am sure that he entered into God’s kingdom as a “good and faithful servant.” May His blessings be both a comfort and strength to you and your family during this time of sadness and may you all be lifted up by your remembrance of him and the celebration of his life.
With Our Love,
Bill and Catherine
