John Kelly Faircloth, Sr, age 84, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on January 8, 2018 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 27, 1933 in Harnett County and was the son of the late Seavy and Alwin DeVane Faircloth. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Mildred House Faircloth; brother, Seavy Faircloth, Jr. and sisters, Julie Allen, Doris West and Hazel Faircloth.
Mr. Faircloth is survived by his devoted children, John Kelly Faircloth, Jr., Ronnie Faircloth and wife, Renee` of Manassas, Va., Dianne Hall and husband, Jerry of Wilmington and Timothy Faircloth and wife, Chris of Plattsmouth, NE; grandchildren, Wendy Wells and husband, Jack, Jeremy Faircloth and wife, Christina, Kelly Faircloth III and wife, Katrina, Nick Hall, Natalie Faircloth, Amy Faircloth, Michelle Mull and husband, Christopher, and Sean Faircloth and wife, Jessi; great grandchildren, Austin Faircloth, Luke Wells, Matthew Wells, Grayson Faircloth and Madison Faircloth; sisters, Erbie Messer of Charlotte, Sybil Norris and husband, Landon of Dunn and Letha Lake and Phil of Oak Island and numerous nieces, nephew and friends.
John was a loving father and caring grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was family. With great talent and skill, he was owner and operator of his own upholstery shop where he developed many friendships that lasted a lifetime. He was a man of compassion and kindness, always lending helping hands to neighbors, friends, and family. He had a deep, private relationship with God and demonstrated his faith in the way he lived his life. Mr Faircloth will surely be missed but treasured memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 12th at 2:00pm at Harnett Devotional Gardens, 5665 Fairground Road, Dunn, NC with the Pastor Craig Richardson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00pm on Thursday, January 11th at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.

John upholstered a chair for us in some old blue material he had. Ben still has that chair in his garage.

I'll always remember Peggy and John were Ben's first babysitters. I was going to check out a sitter and that same day Peggy came over and asked if they could watch Ben for us. John helped change Ben's dirty diapers and take care of the little ones they were watching. They were our next door neighbors. Great daycare back then.
