Shirley Ann Frith Miller, age 89, a wonderful Christian lady who lived a fruitful, loving life passed gently from her earthly life on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her home surrounded with love by family.
She was born March 16, 1935 in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of Oscar Frith and Rosa Evans Frith. In addition to her parents Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Scott (Charlie), Oscar Frith, Jr. (Polly), and Kenneth Frith (Helen).
Shirley is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jack Lee Miller; sons, Dwayne Miller (Mary), Tracy Miller (Wendy), and Jeffery Miller (Shannon); grandchildren, Alisha (Shaun), Vickie, Jenny, Sheldon (Sumner), Kaylie (Eli), Brittany, Garrett, Lynsey, and Makenzie; great grandchildren, Jayden, John, Levi, Hunter, and Waylon; sister-in-law, Virginia McKinney; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shirley and Jack were roller skate dancing partners and married December 14, 1955, on their skates. She was a faithful pastor’s wife for 68 years, supporting Jack and her church families in ministry. She was the best wife, mom, sister, aunt, and friend, but being Granny was her specialty. She loved all of her grands unconditionally and was happiest spending time with them.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Haw Bluff Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with service at 11:00 a.m. also in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Jacob Lewis will conduct the service.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
